The ‘Butterfly’ Chair was designed in the early 1980’s by the Dutch designer Gerard van den Berg.

His inspiration for this design is said to have come from scooping out a dip in the sand to make a comfortable seat whilst on the beach during a family holiday, taking that idea with him back to the drawing board the designer created the chairs we have here and they are indeed very comfortable.

This design went on to be produced by Montis and are available here as a pair in all their original splendour, the leather pads lift off the base to be manoeuvred and the base of mesh ensures air passes through to the underside, the base and legs are black coated steel and provide great stability to the sitter adding to the supremely relaxing comfort.
